Southern Heritage, Rebranded: Telling a Better Story Through Design

When Black River Distillery came to myself and a friend to inquire about design a brand identity refresh, we instantly knew what visual direction would be best for the brand.

Crafted from a family recipe handed down since the 1800’s, BR had a solid product, but their marketing and branding didn’t reflect the quality of the product.

We leaned into the heritage aspect of their story, emphasizing on this being a true product of South Carolina history.

We worked with BR to create a series of labels for their various products, including their flagship vodka.

The brand identity system needed to work on multiple bottle shapes, while feeling cohesive with the flagship vodka bottle.
