Bridging Brand and UX: A Smarter System for CBD Coffee Online

When my friends over at Art of the Cart asked if I’d jump into this project to help with a brand overhaul for an energetic CBD-infused coffee company, I couldn’t wait to get started.

My role in this project started with a logo refresh for the client, but quickly morphed into building a cohesive brand system that would translate well to e-commerce. Together with AoTC’s guidance, I created an updated logo, color palette, custom iconography, and UI/UX exploration for how the system would play out.

We ideated on multiple options for icons, settling ultimately on the bottom row for better readability for the user.

Here’s a full look at how the icons ended up being used in the final site design.

These custom icons were used to convey roast level and caffeine level. We ultimately settled with the coffee bean and lightning bolt combo for simplicity for the user.

I crafted custom icons for CTA sections that would help the user understand the benefits of this CBD-infused coffee.

The whole system ended up playing together beautifully.
